Kimberly Hawkey & Jonathan Luks Play Wayside

Kimberly Hawkey, an award-winning multi-genre vocalist, is developing her craft in the Catskill mountains and NYC. Inspired by great lyrics and melodies of the last century, Kimberly draws from best-loved American songs ranging from jazz to folk music. She is the vocalist/lyricist of a hot jazz band, The Swingaroos, and the founder of Catskills-based collective, Elvanelle Music. Ms. Hawkey's Big Band-era sound earned her praise as "a high-octane lead singer" (Sarasota Observer), while BroadwayWorld.com has called her "a delightfully fresh-voiced treat". Jonathan Luks has been called a Renaissance Man as his work infuses multiple sources. His Tap Dance influences began in the '70s as a member of Brenda Bufalino's Dancing Theatre Company, and includes working with The Copasetics, Honi Coles, and dancing with Greats such as Harold Nicholas, Cab Calloway, and Gregory Hines. In the past 4 years he's been a member of The Lauren Hooker Band, his Taps can be heard on her CD, "All For You Body and Soul". Jonathan has played guitar in a variety of groups like The Luks-Mantas Jazz Duo, and The Robert Ross Blues Band. Jonathan is also a Composer/Producer having written 19 Musicals which tour schools, theaters, libraries, and museums with his company, "Flying Ship Productions". From 1987-97 he owned and operated Delhi Dance and Performing Arts.
